How it started…
Who would’ve thought that a small machine shop that started out repairing bicycles and automobiles would grow into one of the most competent tool shops in the U.S.A.? Proudly American-made, Marshalltown tools have been rooted in the states since 1890, proving time and time again, the reliability and effectiveness of their equipment.
The men behind this success are Jesse and Lester Williams. The brothers began making trowels for the locals and this paved the way for Marshalltown tools to slowly make a buzz among people. At that time, they only have towels in production. Nevertheless, Marshalltown trowels became a huge success as requests from local contractors started to spike.
Soon, their small shop quickly grew into a manufacturing and mail-order business, and the brothers thought they were doing quite well. And in 1905, the company was officially incorporated as Marshalltown Trowel Company.
They expanded their products over the years.
The men of the industry initially started by producing trowels.
